AVENGED SEVENFOLD Release Cover Of PINK FLOYD’s “Wish You Were Here”; Announce Deluxe Edition of “The Stage”

Avenged Sevenfold have concluded the evolution of their latest album “The Stage” with a cover of a Pink Floyd classic “Wish You Were Here.”

Speaking on the cover singer M. Shadows said: “This is the song that started us down the rabbit hole with our recent cover recordings. I’ve always loved this song and though I felt it would be impossible to capture the somberness of the original, we approached it with another purpose. There’s a poignancy to the song that seems appropriate with everything going on in the world today. We put a bit of a modern twist on it to reintroduce it at a time when it might help capture what some of us are feeling.”

Then band also announced they will be releasing a deluxe edition “The Stage” which will include the original 11 tracks, the original track “Dose,” and all six covers they have released, which were the Mexican folk song “Malagueña Salerosa,” Mr. Bungle’s “Retrovertigo,” Del Shannon’s “Runaway,” the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows,” and Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.”

The deluxe edition of the “The Stage” will be released on December 15th, but for now you can check out their cover of “Wish You Were Here” below:
