I’m not one for comparative analysis, but I found this to be utterly amazing. Avenged Sevenfold dropped their surprise album ‘The Stage’ back on October 28, 2016… just one week after the relatively new rock band I Prevail dropped their debut album ‘Lifelines’.
Thus far in 2017, [according to a cool report from Metal Insider that ranks the top selling metal bands this year] Avenged Sevenfold have sold approximately 1,000 fewer copies of ‘The Stage’ than I Prevail’s ‘Lifelines’… a band without the backing of a major label and the benefit of opening for Metallica in football stadiums every other night.
Avenged Sevenfold is supposedly one of the biggest bands on the planet, but thus far, they’re no match for the explosive growth of I Prevail… a band performing this summer on the Vans Warped Tour as compared to the multi-million dollar stadium tour that Avenged Sevenfold is currently on with Metallica.
This really means nothing for Avenged Sevenfold. They’re still immensely successful and are a very talented band. I also really like their new album, “The Stage”, I just think it was promoted poorly.
With that said, I also believe that I Prevail is one of the most underrated bands in the hard rock and heavy metal scene. Their fan base is ever-expanding and these numbers [41,000 so far this year] are nothing to scoff at, to say the least.
I Prevail is really blowing up. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.
