Last Friday AVENGED SEVENFOLD was forced to cancel their Philadelphia date with METALLICA due to the guitarist Synyter Gates’ wife going into early labor. The couple was able to be together for the birth of their son, but Gates had to leave shortly after for the New Jersey date stop of the METALLICA tour.
Gates told Loudwire that: “As a father, when your child comes out, you’re kind of welling up because of what your wife is going through, but the minute the crazy, gray baby comes out and it looks like a 90-year-old version of you, you get scared to death, like, what the fuck have I done?”
Gates continued by saying: “The day progresses and your family is crying, it’s all amazing. The next day, you get that time alone with you and your wife and then you develop the bond and then it’s fucked when you have to leave. I didn’t cry when the kid came out, but I cried when I had to fucking leave, it’s horrible.”
AVENGED SEVENFOLD rescheduled their Philadelphia show for June 21st at the BB&T Pavilion and will honor those who had previously purchased tickets for the previous show.
